A visa is required for this destination.

There are restricted regions in Indonesia. The four regions are: Maluku, Poso, and Irian Jaya/West Papua. Applicants seeking to visit the restricted regions must obtain special authorization from Indonesian authorities.

These citizens must obtain an approval from the authorities in Indonesia prior to applying for a visa. To obtain an approval please follow the following instructions: 1. Contact your sponsor or counterpart in Indonesia – this could be a hotel, travel agent or an individual – to pursue the Authorization (Otorisasi) at the Clearing House of the Department of Foreign Affairs or with Indonesian Immigration. 2. Once the Authorization has been approved, the original will be sent to the Indonesian Embassy or Consulate nearest to you – to apply with VisaHQ it must be sent to the Embassy in Washington DC. A Notification (Pemberitahuan) of the approval is sent to your sponsor in Indonesia. Your sponsor needs to send this document to you to present with your application.

Visa is not required for a stay up to 30 days

Passengers transiting through Jakarta (CGK) with a confirmed onward ticket for a flight to a third country within 24 hours do not need visa. They must stay in the international transit area of the airport and have documents required for the next destination. TWOV between terminals must be pre-arranged by carrier. Passengers with a confirmed onward ticket for a flight to a third country within 8 hours do not need visa. They must stay in the international transit area of the airport and have documents required for the next destination. Note: does not apply at Denpasar-Bali (DPS) and Jakarta (CGK). Warning: There are no transit facilities at Denpasar-Bali (DPS); passengers must comply with all entry regulations for Indonesia.

A Limited Stay Visa is a single entry visa issued for purposes related to work, investment, research, family unification, performance, sport, social activities, retired/senior citizens, etc.

The holder of the Limited Stay Visa is then able to extend the visa and to obtain the temporary permit (KIMS/KITAS) once they arrive in Indonesia.

  • Visa application form. A completed application form for Indonesia will be prepared within 5 business hours of order submission, and emailed to you to download and print.

  • Original passport. The passport must be valid at least 6 months after the intended date of departure from the territory of the destination country and has at least 2 blank visa pages.

  • Passport-type photograph. Include 2 passport style photos, with a white background, taken within the last 6 months. You may also choose to upload a photo to your order for us to print. There is a charge associated with this service.

  • Approval Letter. Approval Notification issued by the Clearing House of the Department of Foreign Affairs or Indonesian Immigration.
    If applying for a MULTIPLE ENTRY business visa must get an approval notice from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jakarta prior to applying for the visa, and it must be sent to the specific Indonesian Consulate you will be applying at. This is generally handled by your host in Indonesia.

  • Complete itinerary. A copy of round trip tickets or detailed itinerary showing all intermediary countries between your destination and return to country of origin. The applicant's name must be on itinerary.

  • Business Letter. A soft/hard copy of business letter from the sending company. The letter should be printed on the company letterhead stationery, addressed to "The Consulate of Indonesia, Visa Section", and signed by a senior manager. The business letter must adhere to the following guidelines: Briefly introduce the applicant (please specify employment status/position held in the company by applicant). State the nature of the business to be conducted (i.e. nature of contracting, etc.) and the names and addresses of companies to be contacted in Indonesia. Specify the Type and desired Validity of the visa (i.e. a one year multiple entry business visa). Guarantee of sufficient funds for travel. In the event the applicant is self-employed, please mention the nature of business conducted in Indonesia in the application under "Other" in paragraph 1.15. Specify the place of accommodation in {Country}.

  • Business invitation. A business invitation letter from the sponsoring company in the destination country. The letter should be printed on company letterhead stationery, addressed to "The Consulate of Indonesia, Visa Section", and signed by a senior manager. The business letter must adhere to the following guidelines:
    Briefly introduce the applicant (please specify employment status/position held in the company by applicant).

  • Host's ID. Copy of the K.T.P (Indonesian ID Card) of the principal/person who signed the letter of Invitation if the person is an Indonesian citizen.

  • Proof of residency. Copy of KIMS/KITAS (Indonesian Immigration's temporary stay permit) of the principal/person who is a non-Indonesian citizen that sponsoring your visit, or Identification card for foreigner. Foreign citizen in Indonesia who does not have KIMS/KITAS nor Identification Card for Foreign National could not sponsor a family visit.
